Cristóbal Corral is PhD in Physics from the joint program of Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María and Pontificie Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. During this period, he worked on the interface bewtween gravitation and high-energy physics. He did a research stay at Universität Tübingen, Germany, and he participated in 3 postdoctoral appointments at Centro Científico Tecnológico de Valparaíso, Instituto de Ciencias Nucleares at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and Universidad de Santiago de Chile. He joined ICEN in March 2020 and he is currently Associate Professor. His research interest are gravitational instantons, black holes, and black strings in general relativity and beyond. He is Principal Investigator of the Fondecyt Project N°11200025 "Gravitational Instantons Beyond General Relativity" y Co-Investigator of the Fondecyt Project N°1210500 "Black hole spectrum of Degenerated (ghost free) Higher Order Scalar/Vector-Tensor Theories".
